“The Great Gatsby”: Now in 3-D!

Earlier this week, the Australian director Baz Luhrmann told reporters at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that he was thinking of filming his upcoming adaptation of “The Great Gatsby” in 3-D. Fitzgerald’s book has already been subjected to numerous adaptations, including the tepid 1974 film version, an instantly forgotten made-for-TV movie in 2000, and even a video game. A more worthy project was “Gatz,” a word-for-word stage adaptation of the novel.
